Because You Are My Daughter Is it because she is my daughter That she should always be wrong If she is like me she will try harder But never sing the right song. How can she never get it right But with him, her trust and feeling grow And she loved with all her might So she worked hard to make it true I carried her under my heart A love only a mom can understand Wanting only the best from the start And prayed for the perfect man. He was her choise & they grew together It was love for both & Two became one So many changes for them to weather She tried the hardest before it was over Because she is my daughter I want to make it all alright Take away the pain like any mother Oh, how I tried with all my might! She changed in every way to please him Two babies, a job, a home, a dog Stress of being wrong 90% of the time "I'm sorry" became her song Because she is mine, it will never be good I cry for her and want to hold her To find the peace I never could Break the chain because she is my daughter |

MotherEarth~ Oh, when we rock the cradle - we mothers truly do it for life. We hold them and want opportunities for them that we either didn't have or didn't have the chance to have ... And in a perfect world - we would want to shield them from everything that would harm them - It is, of course, not a perfect world, mom - so we watch with aching hearts when they make decisions that we feel aren't right for them - We can let them know we are here for them and support them with our love ... and we can catch their tears when they fall ... but ... they must cry them for themselves. I understand what you're saying - and *hugs* to you for being a caring and loving mom. This is beautifully written with love. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

M_E, Wonderfully written and tenderly expressed first post from you. I knew you could do it!! It is never easy to step aside and watch our children make their own mistakes and learn for themselves, but there is no other way. All you can do is be there for the sweet one you write of. She is a gem and has more support than you think. Love her, dry her tears, and help her learn, Mom. She is an angel among us I know. You have done a great job here with the writing and your daughter. ![]() HUGS to you both, LW < !signature--> Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats [This message has been edited by Lone Wolf (edited 12-28-2000).] |

~Because You are My Mother~ It is because she is my mother That I’ve decided it’s time for Me Time to stand without leaning on another Decided I can’t step back and let it be ~*~ She’s soothed with her gentle hand Dried the tears with her patient heart Explained life never goes as planned And it’s never to late for a new start ~*~ It’s because she is my mother That I will succeed if I try Listening to my voice before another And it’s ok if I need to stop and cry ~*~ Don’t do as I do but as I say Within you lay the answers you seek The regret of not trying doesn’t go away Because I’m her daughter I’m not weak ~*~ It is because she is my mother I’ll walk past my uncertainty and fear Because she loves me like no other I’m proud when I see her eyes in my mirror ~*~ The words never came easy to express Just how much I love her for all she’s done Giving her all and never any less Because of her I’ve wings to fly in the sun ~*~ I love you mom...and this is the only way that I could tell you how much this means to me...see I knew you could weave, who do you think I got it from! And to have your first one in so long be for me...I will never forget this gift...I love you and I know you are with me...no matter where you are~ |

Your love for her shows through in this special gift to your Daughter. I know she will be touched greatly by this. And yes! she has indeed inherited her Mothers talent for weaving the feelings that flow from her heart. ![]() "The heart and soul have no illusion of boundries when friendship is the quest" ~ My Angel. |

I carried her under my heart A love only a mom can understand Wanting only the best from the start =================== Mother Earth this is such a wonderful gesture of love and this poetic exchange touches me deeply. You have given her a significant gift by this your first post being for her and I know it speaks volumes to her... her poetic reply says it all... one of the truest gifts of writing is that it allows us to put into words and to speak our heart to someone when we might not be able to say it with our spoken words. Wonderful, sincere, writing Mother... "Welcome" to Passions ![]() I personally look forward to seeing more of your gift. take care jm Some people find subtlety in strangers if you find anything~let me in Your eyes~you see everything my eyes~I see it all together now~and I know |

Welcome to Passions "officially" now as the poet that we all knew was in there. When a piece of poetry comes from the heart straight to the pen as this piece has then it has the power and intensity that will forever leave it's mark and not just on the heart of that wonderful butterfly daughter of yours. It is easy now to see where she gets not only her talent but her strength and her caring heart. Nothing makes me smile more than to see a parent and a child bond closer and closer as time goes on and you two have definitely been doing that it appears. Lovely write for and from lovely souls. A life with love will have some thorns, but a life without love will have no roses. author unknown |

Nan: Thanks for the very kind words. And I love what you did to my e-mail poem! Marge: Thank you for the encourgement and understanding. I am sure I will "call" on you for more help. Serenity: Thanks for the hug, I need all I can get! Lone Wolf: Thank you and yes I did it, but it was like giving birth. Does it get easier? My Butterfly: What can I say except I love you and want only the best for you and the kids. It is so hard to let you go and fly all by yourself! I will try! Eagle One: Thank you for reading & thanks for your kind words. I hate to see her fly alone & me not there to catch her if need be. Janet Marie: Thanks for the kind words. I know my butterfly has many wonderful friends, and you SS, one of the best. Irish Rose: Glad to be here Charisma: Sometimes I think I am the only mother on earth then remember my mom had to put up with me. I need that "hug" and thanks! Mark Bohannan: Thank you for the welcome and such kind words. As you can see, I love that child & wish her the best. Thank you one and all from Passions for the warm welcome. I have enjoyed all of your poems so much. |

Whew - This is really emotional for me. I am so thankful that I am the perfect son-in-law for some mother out there. It must be horrible for all those other daughters - just horrible - lol. I love your poem. |

I had to come back now that I've got the time for a proper reply to these lines: "Stress of being wrong 90% of the time I'm sorry" became her song Because she is mine, it will never be good I cry for her and want to hold her To find the peace I never could Break the chain because she is my daughter" You know, I'll tell you something, this is (crying here) this is.....me and were my mother alive I know she would do this. All I can muster up right now is God bless you for these feelings of encouragement and don't you let this girl be sorry for anything, make her feel right 90% of the time. Oh, go for 100% she probably has to make up for apologies she never should have said. God bless. "Every man dies. Not every man truly lives." Braveheart |

Sunshine: Thank you for the words of wisdom. She is stronger than I will ever be. Thanks for the welcome. Irish Rose: As her mom, I think there should be one more thing I could do or one more thing to say or one more tear to wipe away or one more piece to pick up. She is tough, though. Thanks for the thoughts. |
