Listening to every heart

0 posted 2000-12-27 09:18 PM

Evening Musings

in my Neil Diamond shirt
and my leather moccasins
I've wrapped my purple
flannel robe
'round the outer me
and in my inner me
I find myself
wrapped up in my thoughts
things that can't be bought
my musings belong to me

took off the earrings
hours ago
laid my necklace down
ran my fingers through my hair
watched my smile
go upside down

but only for a moment
a minute,
more or less
then I banished that away
asked my smile to stay

and it did
in spite of
silly things
said

and now I come to you

today I read your words
listened intently
then I heard
the hurt from you,
the want of him,
the joy of babe
the love within

peace of mind and
candles bright,
and green eyes
in pure sunlight

today I read your words
not a one has gone unheard

now I come to you

and wonder
will you let me in
just a little way
let me sing this song to you
so in your heart it stays
will you let me
smooth your brow
braid your hair
give tender caring now

will you let me in,
for in a little way
some sunshine should belong
in every little day
and the song shall only be
an inner part of harmony

I see the sorrow,
note the want ~
hear the cry
and I long to
hug the hi
then shake away
all good byes

on one hand I can't count
on two hands even more
count my fingers and
my toes
add my ears and my nose
and still the friends
here multiply
and I wonder
in my musings
here is where
I found I…

with my evening musings
in my Neil Diamond shirt
wondering if you are there
wondering if you hurt
wondering if you will let me in
for just a little while
see
sunshine needs to shine a bit
and share with you
her smile…

shine on sunshine bright
for I know we could all use your light
shine on and sing your song so dear
I know that I for one can't wait to hear. . .

wonderful Sunshine. . .

Sunshine, even though I've never seen you, I can picture exactly how you look in this setting...you have described it beautifully...who in the world could ever say no to a smile from sunshine? The way you explain your character's feelings and actions are beyond compare...excellent writing

Beautiful soft reflective writing Karilea.. you gathered your words to a peak as one would in a song and then slowly allowed the ballad to trickle down across your heart and through the lines....yes everyone needs some Sunshine and this work is a beautiful sunrise and sunset......loved it!  Let you in?!? I guess! I just won't let you braid my hair because if Marsha ever got a hold of that ,well, you can imagine...I'd never live it down....wonderful work!!    ethome

Kari love, I haven't been able to give as much time here as I've wanted to today. So my visits have been more like lightening raids than ever. Can I see you in this? Yes love most certainly I can, and very fetching you look too. And I would never turn Sunshine away, and most particually today. One of those days love. But since it's nearly tomorrow here, maybe I'll get the chance to actually read and soothe my soul a little.
Wonderful work as always, and you know I love the shirt kid   Now pin that smile back on and glow love glow! You will never be any less than incandescent. (That's me being totally unbias honestly. I'll even take the oath if you like.   )
Take care kid

I'd be very glum without your warming rays, Karilea! Say, sounds like a cool shirt, can I borrow it....hehehe.....I went to see Neil Diamond a few years back when he was in Philly...best show I've ever seen...ever!
