WINTERTIDE
***********

Shall I tell you what I can see,
now that the trees are bare..
and I can look up forever?
I see more than the blue-gray
Winter sky and the dull drab
texture of December..
or the far off furloughed distant
sun..that makes no effort
to keep me warm and smiling..
or the fuzzy yellow moon that
permeates my darkened space
throughout these long and
lonely frosted nights..
Oh yes, I see so much more!
I see the biting bleakness
of my hibernal existance..
a harsh desolation that
chills me to my very core.
And, I grow weary with
bitter resentment and
constant discontent..
as I hang on to the fond
memory of freshly cut grass
and soft tepid breezes..
scented with Summer's sweet
Honeysuckle..
while closing my eyes to
Wintertide.

I'm sorry to hear about those winter blues Joyce, but this was a powerfully expressed poem! May Christmas love and cheer make your blues disappear! Thank you for sharing, my friend!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

This is wonderful, I see the nature in this one. I love it.
