A simple drive
I pass the house
and see a tomb of family
each planting
Every
willow tree—
each shadow that might
whisper "me",
ghostly girl,
She’s beckoning—
Jumping rope
within her hand…

No one is home.
I am alone.
My simple door is locked.
I glance upon
my naked wrist
accursed of no clock…

Oh my fingers of duress
against the winter’s pane, I press,
and cry in smell
of famine’s feast,
one more bone?
I taunt, the beast….

Granted,
you?
and all,
you do--
I duck, I dance, I pirouhette--
Slanted,
NEW
With all?
I DO.
I duck, I dance, in silhouette…

Every shadow,
mimics me---
in love with you,
the tide of sea...
Each shell? She
washes back to me--
a lingering, of love's regret.

Prints of foot
upon the sand
Easy word
to understand
and everything
I was before?
Leads me here,
To one child’s door—

Every breath
breathed unto you?
Every, each,
un-colored, hue...
I could not be here as before—
Love you,
Love you,
Love you….more…
