Pipe Of Dreams

In the misty folds of fog
softly hiding a higher place
spirits dance,
circling round a fire's burning sparks,
starlike embers climbing to the sky.
Through the silence can be heard
chants of ancients,
stories and tales only warriors tell;
mighty magic is sung here too,
by those who see and heal,
ghostly specters,
faces hidden behind spirit mask,
ghost riders,
galloping through the foggy shadows,
their spirit cries echoing on the wind,
souls of the not forgotten,
gathering in the misty dreams
of the elders sitting tall
around the sparkling, crackling fire,
passing the pipe of dreams,
discerning the future of a people
on the brink of
eternity.
