Fallen Rain aka dgvarner's poem "Diamond's Falling" inspired me to write my own version. It's amazing how a poem can inspire so many to write of their experience with the sad rain and the passing of a loved one. This may not compare to hers, but I just had to write about my Grandma, Christmas time is the hardest to be without her. ~DIAMONDS FALLING~ Rain falls in plentiful cascade Shattered rain clouds drift with the sky's blue weeping diamonds splashing in mourning upon the ground I stare, calmed by their timeless beauty reminded of how I still miss you, now more than ever, I need your voice, your presence... reassurance that you live on in heaven Convinced that you exist within the now rain soaked earth I try to sigh a breath for those diamonds... to reach your spirit, but instead I cried as I shivered inside from the chill and the storm brewing within a faded memory of you, the hole in my heart grows deeper morn by day - there is no end The parade of rain marches down from the painted scene in those anguished clouds, scattering... pieces of sorrow trickle down through the breeze in brilliant hues and reflections, how I need to see your eyes sparkle like white diamonds the way that they used to when I called your name in song as a girl when I was your little Melissa You always taught me to have faith and I still remember your promise that even with your passing you would still live in the air around me and embrace me the tender way that Grandma's do as you would whisper through a wisp of wind that we would be together one day... someday... all too far away, but, patience and hope can never soothe an empty heart Until then diamonds shall softly fall from my eyes for you ever so beautiful ever so pure ever so flowing in bittersweet memory *By Melissa Honeybee* The beauty of poetry gives my soul wings to fly free within dreams |

I truely hope that you find the diamonds falling around you cleansing the heart and bringing it some peace. I am sure (no, I KNOW) that your Grandma is there with you and for sure in your heart as she shines in your words from your love and memories of her. I applaud you taking a inspiration from another poet and putting your own life into the same message but on a personal note done so lovely and I applaud our friend Gale for inspiring you. Loved them both. |

Peace, my friend, and I believe they share our space, only just beyond our view, loving us just as they did in life, while waiting for our time to pass, and us to join them on a higher plane. jwesley |

Melissa I thought that you penned this so deeply from the heart that I just had to bump it back up to the front where some others can enjoy it like I did....things will always work out in the final end....have a nice holiday.....ethome |

melissa ..i'm glad i could inspire you to sift your own soul on a subject such as this.. and i must say, i admire you for being able to use more words than i..LOL i tend to get tangled up in them if i use too many words..so i have to keep it rather simple.. but your poem is beautiful and a wonderful love-letter for your grandma hugs, g "the beginning of wisdom is, 'i do not know'" -unknown |

It's a treasure. Very wonderful emotion and thought behind all of this, God bless. "If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you." Winnie the Pooh |

Melissa~ You write your feelings so beautifully. What a joy to have been so important in someone's life that the memories are penned so eloquently. It's easy to see the influence of your Grandmother in your tender thoughts. *Hugs*, honey. Merry Christmas. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
