When I was just a youngster I remember way back then When I would jump a creek or climb some trees A strong wave of excitement would go rushing through my veins And always put a weakness in my knees. Then I grew up, discovered girls and passion's gentle touch And, everything concerning birds and bees Would bring a warm flush to my face and quickness to my breath And always put a weakness in my knees. Then I came to the bad times when all hope and love was lost When nothing ever seemed to work with ease When excitement for the thrill of life was simply washed away And I never felt a weakness in my knees. And now you stand in front of me. I can't believe my eyes. God's finger has directed you my way. The storm clouds have all faded and bright skies shine overhead As I look forward to a sunny day. My faith has been restored in life and all because of you Each night I close my eyes and say " God....please Don't ever let this gift from You find harm in any way And thank you for the weakness in my knees." |

This reminds me of a song by Mel Carter "Hold me, thrill me, kiss me" I love it, the poem and the song! "Thrill me, thrill me, walk me down the lane where shadows will be...will be.. hiding lovers just the same as we'll be..." love that feeling just like this poem. yes, weak in the knees kind of words, just like in the song....great poem, Michael... this is a great poem for everyone....and we sure have the romantics here at Passions!< !signature--> "If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you." "My faith has been restored in life and all because of you Each night I close my eyes and say " God....please Don't ever let this gift from You find harm in any way And thank you for the weakness in my knees." Oh, this is so sweet Michael ... such lovely thoughts to read from you this morning. It's amazing how brightness and light can enter one's world, just when you least expect it. What a wonderful feeling you've portrayed! Best wishes, /Kit |

*giggling* you better be careful, Mr. Balladeer, that the weakness in your knees doesn't cause you to collapse at her feet. *wicked grin* on second thought maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea. Love looks good on you. I pray you both will be very happy. Much love from me to you. Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. http://path2riches.com |

Balladeer~ Takes a strong man - to be weak-kneed. When love brings you to your knees in thankfulness for what you've found - love abounds. Beautiful write, my friend. Now - Get up and kiss me ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Oh how sweet, our Balladeer brought down to his knees by the love of a woman. Isn't it so nice to feel that weakness in the knees and to know she'll be there to help hold you up. |

Now most who are approaching Balladeer's substantial age Aren't pleased with all the weakness, for tis quite a war we wage To get cooperation from joints that crack and squeak And the last thing that we need is for our knees to be all weak! It only takes just one bad fall... or perhaps a simple slip To find that we've been scheduled for an artificial hip! But perhaps you need that weakness? It could be the master plan To get you down on bended knee, asking for her hand. If that's the case, remember that a man is never weak When words of love are what he utters every time he speaks. |
