Inside of me

In commotion thrown on waves
birthed of a tropical depression
far distant off this shore
of present life where prayers
on behalf of seamen lost
are only wishes held to the winds
carrying me to a faithless hope
in the religion of self

Robert

Excellent line!  Thank you!

You make a wonderful impression with your writing.  Most enjoyed.

Robert? you've got a remarkable talent for saying so much in a few lines...a sort of minimalist approach that give the reader room to ponder...I enjoy your work much!!!

Sunshine, I am glad you found a favorite line. In a short poem I think it is important to put as much as one can in few words.

I am not a wordy poet. I get bored too easily with myself I guess.

Victoria, I like the quote you have as a sig file. I think finally a poem must be abandoned.

PS: I have the search for hope.

*

JohnR I am glad you enjoy reading...I will keep trying.

*

Serenity, as always you say such nice things.

*

Wynter....keep the faith Baby!!!!
