The Steps You’ve Taken
Virginia Salter

Your footprints mark the steps you’ve taken.
The steps to save our love.
There  they are...
across my face
down my back
and then
out the door
into the fresh snow of winter.

I feel the snow’s warmth as you go.

Giant P.S.

This was inspired by serenity's "fingerprints of your love" phrase in her "love, absurd" poem.

Thanks, Paula, Startime and Nate Dogg.  It is not autobiographical, although I think I have felt feelings related to this many years ago.  It was purely inspired by serenity's piece, "love, absurd's" phrase "fingerprints of your love."

Glad you liked it.

I tried to see who had responded to my note to serenity and it wouldn't come up.  I don't know what to do and if it was she or not.

VAS~
What a wonderfully inspired piece.
I think this is splendid.

'I feel the snow’s warmth as you go.'
Very uniquely stated.

Thanks, lots, Marge.  That seems to be the favorite line.  It certainly will be one of my favored pieces.  I surely thank serenity for the inspiration.

VAS--I thank you so much, twice in fact (check your e mail) and I always did say that we all inspire each other! And I so understand the sadness of this piece, so often love seems to be a season passing...Hugs to you my friend! and a big THANK YOU to you as well. (that's three...grin)
