Once In A Lifetime

Down and out, but not Beverly Hills
__Just a tiny town, nothing special, no frills

All alone for the now, was the first holiday
__Filled with an empty, as thoughts went astray

So ~Victoria, so sweet, invited me, too
__To travel the west, in skies aloft blue

My first, you do know, from the East Coast towards West
__On the flight, I put everyone to my talking test

You see, I can be friendly to the youngest of all
__To any and every, both short and the tall

No matter the company, bet some wish that they knew
__How to drown out my words, while flying the blue(8 hrs)

My first seating partner, worked for the CIA
__Guarded Hillary's Chelsea, at school and at play

So we expressed our beliefs, and the vote that had been
__Wondering when, the finals would be in...

At the switch in Phoenix, my new seat was next
__To a very nice gentleman who was reading a text

But I interrupted, you see, I hate planes
__So I talk till time runs out, and we've landed again...

The scenery was beautiful, and the lights were amassed
__My eyes were lit up with reflections I passed

Very new to me, flying, I shuttled to hotel
__Anticipating my meeting, hoping ~V~, I could tell

Took a moment, a phone call, the intercom too
__But no one responded, so I walked the halls through

Around the last corner, on a bench, there was she
__Geena Davis, I thought, she jumped up greeted me

To my room we first went, then down to the games
__Where I placed my first twenty, and the money then came

Won a thousand with sevens, I was calm, but I smiled
__Yes, I was thinking, this was worth all the miles...

We laughed and enjoyed, as we played through the night
__Whatever she touched, turned to silver, that's right!

Miss Geena and I, had a ball those few days
__And to top it all off, someone blind had to say
(must have been blind anyway *S*)

She thought I appeared like Mariah Carey
__Well!! my hair was a bit lighter then, but the age, blind was she

Said my ~Smile~ that was it, so ~Victoria and I
__Were the treasures of The Nugget, as we passed people by

Giggling like schoolgirls, wherever we went
__We impressed, we had fun, we created an event

We both left Las Vegas, as winners you see
__We both broke "even", but the treasure to be

Was the meeting of each, and a friendship in "real"
__From an online of poetry, from the warmth words can feel

So my first trip out West, bonded two, as new friends
__Memories held special, from beginning to end....

thank you  Geena *s* huggzz

~Wynter

Wynter and Victoria, what a great way to advertise an IRL friendship. Loved the couplets.
