Forgiving the unforgivable
by Richard Maxfield
3-27-98

For the unforgivable
I freely forgive
For I have my own
Life to live

Painful words
Fighting screams
Is it all the way
That it seams

Your words
Sharper than any knife
What took over
My dear sweet wife

You fired your words
Straight at my heart
Cut me so deep
I came apart

Lies and secretes
Things untold
When did all your hate
Take hold

I sat there mouth open
Not a sound
You tried to justify your actions
By pushing me down

An attempt to provoke me
Into something not meant
So you could run away
Another night not spent

You were trying to justify
You leaving me
Looking back
I can clearly see

Burning love
Seething rage
My emotions I kelp
Locked up in their cage

To go be with him
Not just me
These painful things
I can plainly  see

An attempt to provoke me
Into something not meant
So you could run away
Another night not spent

My emotions pacing
A shrinking cage
For you now
There is no rage

For the unforgivable
I freely forgive
For now
I have my own life to live

Ps duth LOL these poems are old poems. i do still write every once in a while about the break up but really most of that is gone now. Every once in a while some thing will take me back and i drag out these old poems and vent all over again. Not sure if its the right thing to do but I feel better after doing so.

love and light,
richard
