                ~Love Once Lived Here~

Love once lived here blissfully
I struggled, though in vain
To keep the links together
To piece the broken chain

You took back the promise
That you gave long ago
You took back the heart
Quietly, I let it go

I gave you my love freely
To be yours forevermore
But now I can say I'm free
I won't love you nevermore

I'm not bound by all your promises
I broke that golden chain
You'll never know the words you spoke
Were the cause of so much pain

You didn't see when you walked away
Nor even as you look today
That in this heart I freely gave you
Love has faded away

Though it will live and this I know
It's buried deep within my soul
It will still stay hidden and tucked away
and hopefully trust again someday

It will endure with hope and patience
And someday when I'm sure
That it won't be trampled like before
I'll let it out with a vengeance

I know it's there kept in safe keeping
Beating oh so gently
For I feel it stir when I am sleeping
A reminder ever sweetly

That someday in the future
Like so many with you before
When dark clouds gather around you
And life brings you to my door

You will stretch out you arms toward me
And you will, though I know not when
I will shelter this heart, kept safe within
Away from you always..Yours, NO! .Never Again.

That right there says it all for me.
Written in a quiet voice of strength. Love it.

i know its sometimes hard to break the chains you believe in...but there are those that need breaking in order for change to take place..maybe one day they can be put back together..or renewed in a healthier situation    here hoping you dont keep your heart or your love in hiding for too long

It is hard to trust again and when pain is the result of a love that you gave so freely it makes it even harder but in time comes the appearance of the one that will walk you through those frightening steps.  Wonderful heartfelt piece from you my friend.  Way to stand up and voice your heart.

heart...and it shines in every line of the
heart felt weave, may you find the love that
you so richly deserve and let it fill the
hallways of your heart and soul
again...beautiful writing~

Wow, this is great, though so sad
I also lost someone I loved once and it hasn`t been the same ever since...But somehow you learn to live with it and in a strange way you grow stronger....
