Mid-December. Insomnia. Dreams don’t come easy. The clock’s steady meter resounds, -- displeasing. Lean on the window and listen to the winter’s Heart-moving symphony. Warm breath. Shivering lips mark the window,-- A sudden epiphany. Naked branches sway to the rhythm, -- freezing! Thus starts a poem. Thus the Muses control us, teasing Us with the winds’ wailing. Thus cold fingers Become anxious to write. Thus, seducing the soul, the hour-hand lingers To move any further tonight. < !signature--> Check out my poetry here: http://cafepoetry.com/stage1/andrey_kneller.htm#My%20Hamlet [This message has been edited by Master (edited 12-16-2000).] |

Master~ This is just an intriguing piece. 'Put your ear to the window and listen to the winter’s Heart-moving symphony.' Slightly chilled thoughts moving the muses about. Of course I'm sitting down here in Florida with 80 degrees of sunshine today ... so mine hummed to the sound of the air-conditioner. *smiles* to you. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Master~ Thanks for the invite. I think I'll pass. I spent five months in New York at a writer's retreat in the Catskills. November - March ... COLDEST I've EVER been ! But - I'll think warmly of you ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

nicely done and I agree with Marge I enjoyed the same lines..now look... that cold weather in New York isn't all that bad is it? Doesn't it give you nature's beauty to write about..I am only slightly below you in PA and I love the coldness..makes me know I am alive... just teasing you..it does get bitter sometimes..but you can always warm up...you can't always get cool enough in the heat of the south... ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II |
