Once a little girl crying out for love,
Now a grown woman ,still crying out the same,
Is there anyone to blame,
Everything, seems the same,
Uninterrupted time passes by,
Yet stillness of my heart,
No reaction to your passions,
A woman cries out for love,
Wanting, needing,
But all I can do is push your love away,
It's not the way I am,
It's the way I've grown into this fear,
I'm sorry darling ,I'm sincere,
So onward I go, mind raging,
Blaming you,
For all the wrong reasons,
Somehow you see through the storms,
And look for a hint of sunshine,
That every so often tiptoes out,
I guess ,with you,
I find the most cherished moment,
The most saught after prize,
The most talked about,
Love, Teach me.
No one is born knowing how to love,
Only through others can we learn,
Such a feat,
I am willing to learn,
So teach me,
Reach me, never give up,
For just as a baby learns to walk,
I need to learn how to love.
Take me step by step,
Stand beside me,
Hold my hand,
Never letting go,
Then one day I can say,
I love you, and know the meaning
of those three little words,

Rosebud,
you don't need to learn a thing if this loving write is anything to go by.
However...
Lessons in love 101
first find a friend to share your heart
soon in sharing, loving starts
tell him all and tell him often
in this, bitterness will soften
hold him close when times are bad
stand together when things get mad
tell him secrets, it shows your trust
and don't forget a little lust
hear him speak, take in those words
they set freedom to love's birds
commit, I say unto the end
but first of all find a friend.

Write on
Kethry

this is a sincere honest piece of work RB ...
well written and expressed ...
there is a lot of wisdom and truth in these lines as well.
we do learn to love and trust our hearts to another by their examples ...
just as we learn to protect our hearts and close them off when we've been hurt ...
I like the hope and promise your last lines
express ...
well done..and its great to see your name here on these pages again
take care

Thank you so much Kethry, I loved your poem, Your so right, but sometimes even though you think wow it's just a breeze, somehow your heart gets all twisted and your mind confused, love is a ever confusing trail but must be saught'
Janet Marie, thank you, I am quite a romantic, In that I think it makes me want so much more at times.
Sometimes I'm sad, sometimes I'm overly emotional, Sometimes I get to caught up in love I suppose, but I guess that's what love is, so many things in so many ways.

Rose,
This brought a tear. You see i was married to a woman who never knew how to love. We were married over 20 year. i kelped telling myself she would learn but she never did. The only person she ever loved was herself. One day she decided it was me not her so she went looking and being a very nice looking lady it was not hard to find takers. That is just what she found is takers. Now she has lost the one person on this earth that would have died for her and her children and all she had worked so hard to gain.
I dont know how to teach a person how to love. I tried my best and failed. She calls from time to time crying to me how big of a screw up she made. She is now living in hell with a man that insted of loving her he hits her. i feel sad for her but nothing I can do but live my life finish the job of raising our daughter and hope love finds me.

Love and light,
Richard

to learn, you must have a good teacher. . . and you must want to learn. . . or the lessons are for naught. . .

excellent poem. . .

I really enjoyed this, but disagree on one point; I think we are born knowing how to love and and are taught otherwise.  Then we have to relearn love, and sometimes that's not so easy to do because we put up so many protective devices to keep from being crushed again; and I think we forget how to remove them.

Love means letting go, being vulnerable, exposed, opening one's soul to pain...and pain may/will come, but we have to learn not to lock ourselves away because of it.

An operation is painful, but if another is needed you'd go back as the alternative is worse; love is just the same in many ways.

Richard, I'm sure you did your very best to teach her to love, sometimes it's the other person not willing to learn, or does not have the heart for it.
Coco thank you so much, to touch one's heart is an honor.
Chef Sven thank you I know a good teacher is a must!
JWesley your right, sometimes I guess once the trust has been broken, it's hard to gain it back, love unfortunately sometimes has scars, that need to be healed.
