Rainbow Bridge

With icycles dangling from weather worn bark
Glistening in the rays of the moon
                             ... dancing in the dark
Castles of ice towering high above the banks
From the tears of broken hearts
                             ... hiding amongst the ranks

Draperies of snow powdering the walks of life
Crunching beneath the footsteps
... hearts frozen in chilling strife
Barren fields covered in the coldest of drifts
Deeply sheltering the warmth
... of friendships much needed gifts

Look more openly at the beauty all around
As life although hibernating
... if searched can still be found
Just beyond the blankets of a dormant love
Rests all the beauty of life and care
... as gifts from the heavens above

Take that walk among the forest of trees
Looking for that friendship
              ... offering that warming breeze
Just beyond the edges of Broken Heart Ridge
You just may find that meadow waiting
... in the middle of Rainbow bridge

Great poem, Mark, kinda makes me think there is a little happiness out there somewhere.
Interesting note-There is a huge website(memorial) for pets that have died, it is called Rainbow Bridge. And my kitty Mia lives there
You should drop them a note, I bet they would love to post your poem on the site somewhere.

VAS-Thank you much.  I am glad that you enjoyed the read.

Karilea-Thank you my friend, but I don't know about the classic part.

Sandra-Thank you very much my friend and I have been to that site.  I almost took their graphic to use on this poem but since I didn't have permission I decided against it.  I am sorry about Mia also.  I will consider emailing them about the poem.  Hugs
to you my friend.

Marsha-It is a good thing that I can play a heart as I really suck at the guitar LOL.  Thank you my friend and I am glad that you were entranced.

Startime-Thank you for those wonderful words and I do try to see the upside to things when possible.

Elise-Sorry to have made you cry.  The intention was to show that hope is always there and just ready for the taking.  Thank you so much for your wonderful words.

Coco-Why thank you sweet friend.  I am glad that you found it good enough to keep and your words and visits always mean the world to me.

L.L.-So I KNEW??????????  Maybe not but I hope that you find those words soon.  It is no good when you can't read poetry my friend.  Thank you much.

Snowpants-Well hello my friend and thank you dearly.  I am glad to have stimulated your mind.  It is a pleasure to know that my poems can evoke some thought to the reader.

JM-Thank you sweetness and yes the (...)'s were just for you.  I knew that you would like to see them in my poems again.  Why, I don't know, but that is besides the point.  Now don't forget to take care of that "groovy" when ya get it ya here?  Hugs baby.  I am glad that you got your fix that you wanted and that I could be the one to dose it up to you.  Who else would have anyway.LOL

Martie-The images I pen are nothing to the unique mind grabbing ones that you share but I do thank you dearly.  Yes, JM is getting to be pretty good at finding those graphics ain't she?  Hugs and love to you my friend.

ethome-Yeah she is a cute one alright with her addictive ways.  The art I am not sure about as I think she just enjoys findig the graphics and then just looks for an excuse to show them off.LOL  Thank you my friend and I am glad that you could see the images without graphics.  That lets me know that I did something right in this one.

Mark, it's us the MBOOPAS, Marsha's out of the office, and left this on for us, so we're doing our own replies. But we've forbidden Daphnie and Sue from doing it because they take too long and seem to forget the rest of us. This is an absolutely beautiful poem, it is truly wonderful. (Sssh don't tell Marsha, or she'll say we don't need to have our weekly gathering, and we'll miss out.)

Delia     Oh this is perfect it really and truly is. It's so pretty
David     I think this is really great
Fran      Oh WOW this is it, this is my personnal favourite
Pat       Fran you always say that. This is definitely a contender though
Mel       I agree, with you excellant I love this one
Jan       Best yet I think, really great and I love the look of this. I really do
Kelsy     Magic, I love this one
Sue       (And keep it short!) SIGH Utterly beautiful and I'm sending you a kiss, please catch it
Daphne    (The same goes for you!) This is wonderful, it's so gorgeaous, it really is. And I'm sending more kisses, lots more.
We've got to go she's on her way back.
We're really looking forward to our Christmas pressie.
Bye for now XXX they wanted to send more but we haven't got the time.
