                Abandonment

I stare frozen in fascination
of my abandonment.
I can still feel pieces of you all over me.

Bewitched in transcendental memories
that now lye abyss.
Silence benumbs me,
as I struggle to forget
the azure skies and crimson dusks
you painted in my eyes.

I feel the colors running off the canvas,
as my eyes baptize my emptiness
in acrimony.

I remember the softness of the glory
we adorned,
in the facets of each other's bodies as one.
Together we lay candescent.

And now,
I sleep alone.
Cold, marose.

Paralyzed,
as your paintings have all faded.
Your good-bye engraved itself on your
last step out my door.

I throw aback the sheets,
as I witness the vanishing embers
turn to cinders,
...on your side of the bed.

SEA,
Thank you so much. I hope you have only beautiful images, and the dreams to go with them.

Wow, superb imagery, and of course I have been there. I can say that to all the poems here except the happy ones

*sigh* I share your pain, dear one. You have expressed it so very clearly that it brings back vivid memories and has my heart going out to you. Much love to you from me.

this shows the depths of the loss. . . the thing is, even the cinders can still burn. . . and the pain is still felt. . .
