Mourning Ice

Sparkling Icicles
Mirroring my life, dropping
Too heavy their load...

I've traveled my wish, in my mind sitting still
Approaching the dreams, climbing that hill
Majestic, the spirits that rise come each morn
A new day of promise, each sunshine that's born.
In myst sprays the light, spreads throughout, relieves pain
Of a heart bearing gifts, to be shared once again.
Lifting the shroud, of a gray residue
Of cold nighttimes, turning to warmth, loving you.
Is it "wonder" of this time of year, shedding tears
Or the journey ahead, ending pasts, and all fears?
Is it wanting the presence, the gifts of just one?
Will a new year be fruitful, when the old one is done?

Time keeps on ticking, with moments of blue
With eyes of mine watching, in colorless hue
As hands placed upon me, move forward in time
Rising each evening, these challenges new, mine...
Internally rhyming, my heart sings to you
Sweet sounds that can melt all the icicles of blue.
Flirting the thoughts, always trembling in kiss
Reigning "till next ..." all the feelings I miss
As my heart pulses strong, and the tattoo then traced
Outlining the pale of initials once placed
Fading to never, yet treasured in find
Always, these memories, now press you to mind.

Sparkling Icicles
Mirroring my life, warming
Lightening my load...
