For Paula

There Once Was A Maiden

There once was a maiden who was young and so sweet
Everywhere that she went people said, my she's a treat
She was a fairytale princess, like the lady Of Shalott
She'd walked right out of a story, the tales of Camelot
She could have been Guinevere, out of Arthur's heart
Except it took Sir Lancelot to tear her world apart

There once was a maiden she was as charming as can be
So charming was she that birds would leave their trees
Elegant was she, with grace and deportment so fine
She knew what to say and also when to draw the line
Graceful she was, she had a dancers charm and grace
And pretty, my goodness yes, you never saw a fairer face

There once was a maiden who had a heart of pure gold
A generous and loving soul give her your heart to hold
She's seeking someone but she's not having any luck
Don't worry I won't let her be bowled out for a duck
That's a cricket term for those who don't really know
Still hold on, love is the name of this maiden's show

There once was a maiden and she was destined to live
A maiden who had love and then so much more to give
She was filled with truth and her love glowed through
Now I'm seeking and I ask can the one possibly be you?
Only the very best would be worthy of her loving heart
And if you are the one I know you won't tear it all apart

Marsha

Paula love, you didn't think I'd write anything but the truth about you surely. P T, expects me to stretched it a little. (Sssshush  P T, everyone knows you've got an army of lady docs queuing up to see if you live up to the legend!) And he does people, he does
I'm glad you like it love, of course you know I only wrote it as a trade off for those shoes don't you.
Shall I duck when you lob them at me love?
Take care

Sandra, I had to you know, she's got these divine silver shoes and I want them. (It was the word silver, if it glitters I've just got to wear it) And when she told me, well you know what it's like, I know. Anyway I rummaged around in my little poetry bag and threw together this little thing.
I thought hey Paula won't mind, that it's not up to spec. And you see it's upset her so much it made her cry.
I'm glad you like it, being serious for a moment, she does deserve a special poem. (It's a pity this isn't it   I'll just have to try harder!
Thank you love I do appreciate you reading this.

Startime/ Karen, thank you love, I'm sorry about all my nonsense, it's a just a little bit of fun Paula P T and I have. A bit like the three stooges, I wonder which one that makes me. Oh well whatever, thank you very much, I do appreciate it.
Take care
