Listening to every heart

Candles In the Night

twilight beckons, shadows call
comes the duskiness over all
comes the owl’s swift flight of night
uncertainty forms shadows of light

but he comes to me in candle bright
in deepest shades of dark twilight
promises of most awesome measure
promises of cherished treasure

and after night of sweet recourse
comes the morn and slight remorse
that through day should we lose touch
would he know the love of such

as I?

and in nosegay of purple white
I shall breath in, with deep delight
and tuck a sprig into the note
which carries love, which was wrote

I shall take some sealing wax
and white candle brightly lit
then melt a bit of sealing wax
and slowly drip it bit by bit

and I shall

seal a love, this forever love
and care not yet one whit
I shall forsake all others ‘round
give myself to him, bit by bit

now whom to trust, whom to take
this message of my true love’s sake
the very love, the one who makes
the heart of me take shiver, quake

and it shall be
the heart of me

by one who holds a candle high
the one who hears the love of sigh
the one who bears the love of real
to carry this to one who feels…

the love of most, the love of some
who knew the greatest love of one
and who now holds such a light
and takes a candle in the night

to shine it in mine eyes

I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

JM, your trademark, marking passages...such a remarkable talent...especially in your synopsis...thank you...

Charisma, you may thread me to your library any time, thank you...

Incandescent works today Marsha...now, get back to your exuberant self, hey?...thank you...

Startime, thank you for giving reasons of love from which to write...

Martie, it does have an old lace feel to me, too...thank you for noticing...

Thank you Vandana...

SEA, take that "part" and incorporate it into one of your own, if you would like to!...

Mr. Yeats, just "so-so" hey?  I will have to try harder, and by the way, who said it wasn't?...{~,^} Thank you...

Sven, you are too easy to please...or...are you?  Nah...{~,^}...thank you!
