What should I do?
To remain in the spotlight,
Should I constantly avoid it,
And do I really want,
That spotlight heat,
Upon the face of my being?
Should I sing more,
Dance or play exceptionally well?
Shy one existing in the real world,
While every day I chisel my way,
Out of this shell,
So that others might see me for once,
The way I am,
Waiting for me without comment.
Just once to be selfish,
To find that the wordless,
Have the most respect,
For the adamant cause,
Of trying to remain myself,
While making subtle changes,
Simultaneously.
I tire of fading,
Into the black background in respect,
But don't need the full light.
Detestable differences and reasoning,
Turn my will into honey,
Because it is the respectable thing to do.
Just once,
Can someone not say,
"I know how you feel"
When can a feeling be my own?
When may I feel a something,
That no one has ever had the pleasure,
Or displeasure of knowing?
