~
~
I’ll see your smiles as long as I live,
as I’ll always remember you;
the bliss that Christmas was able to give
my very own little boy bleu.

When you saw the brilliant tree lights lit,
your sparkling dark brown eyes
just didn’t know what to make of it,
and widened in pure surprise!

The outdoors had come inside for you -
you’d sniff it in keen delight!
This infant tree all fresh and new -
you enjoyed it day and night!

You couldn’t reach out with your little hands,
for so weak and frail you were;
but you explored enchanted lands
when your cheeks stroked the tree of fir!

So I’d push your chair ‘till you leaned right in,
chestnut curls on tinsel bright,
you’d laugh at the brush of it on your skin,
and giggle to see its light.

You’d try to lick a shining globe
that from a near branch hung;
trying with all the patience of Job
to touch one with your tongue.

Your favorite month, your favorite toy,
that Christmas tree each December;
I’ll never forget your purest joy;
Our five tender years, remember.

Sweet beautiful son, ever lingering on,
in my heart where you live so true;
oh, how I miss you, now that you’re gone,
my very own little boy bleu.

Rosemary it makes me blue to hear about your little boy bleu.
I understand your sorrow true, for I have lost loved ones too,
May God in his infinite grace
send you hope to take the place
of the darling five year old
who came as an angel, and was only loaned.
May God reach daily down to you
with loving touch if Little boy Bleu.

LittleMomma~
This is just the most precious of all gifts.
I've seen Joshua's loving picture on your homepage and fell in love with those
adorable eyes.
I know how you must miss this angel.

Big loving hugs from this lady to you and Dale.

God bless you.

I know how many shots the photographer had to take to get this, (maybe 20 or more) but this one was the jewel. Everytime you let go of him the little sole would fall right over. I know that guy was glad to see us go..! But what a shot he got.

A very special thanks to Marge Tindal... from the both of us. It meant so much to RJ... She has worked at least two days on this poem... and I have to say... it's one of her best. I love you RJ and don't you ever forget it my Darlin'

All my caring, dale

What a loving poem for a precious little boy.
It is easy to see why he is so special to you.
I'm so sorry for your loss, but he is in your heart always.
I will think of you in prayers.

How precious are the days we have to spend with our loved ones... Joshua is simply adorable, and no doubt is amongst the most blessed souls now in heaven...

This is a wonderful loving tribute to him, Rosemary...

Our Children should not predecease us. Not at 5 or 10 or even 33  - I don't think the ache is any less at any age -

This little guy is now engraved on my memory  with so much more than that great picture - your poetry will make him 'live' with me forever -

Please accept my hugs and know I share your ache.

Seymour Tabin - Thank you so much for your warm comments!

Rindercella - Thank you too!  Yes, he's in my heart always.  And in Heaven he'll be back in my arms again forever.

Victoria - thank you so much!

Nan - thank you for your dear and loving words.  And thank you so VERY much for helping me get Joshua's picture on correctly.  That meant SO much to me!  I wanted everyone to see how sweet and beautiful he was. Not just a "handicapped child", but a precious little boy, and beloved son.

Kethry - thank you for enjoying his picture, and for your care.

Bill - You are quite right.  It isn't the way we're built, to have our children die before us.  And I'm sure the ache is the same for a parent, no matter what the age.
     Thank you for saying my little son is now engraved on your memory.  And thank you for your sincerity and care.  They mean a great deal to me!

Rosemary,

This is touching and beautiful. Brought a real tear to my eye, first for your obvious loss and also because Mr. Field's poem was one my dear mother recited to me every night when I was a tike myself.

Thanks for the memory.

I have to speak my joy today... Rosemary's work on her "little boy bleu" and all the care she's given... is getting published next month. "I love you 'baby bleu' even with the little work which I could do. You will not be forgotten..."

forever love, dale

Rosemary...whenever you speak of God's tinest angels, your words move me in ways you can't imagine. The picture of Joshua is a gem as I'm sure he himself was also. It's amazing how lifes that touch our own for such a breif moment in time forever change our hearts and souls...once lost in their presence, we are never the same. As I said before, your soul my dear is that of a saint.
Love and hugs to both you and Dale
