All Of You (V1.) I’m crossing the border To a land I don’t know The party is over but I’m not ready to go Can I be this old already? Am I too late? Help me stop the memories from fading Tell them to wait (Chorus) All the people that I’ve called friends They’re still friends to me Though dust has settled on our vows their golden light I still see Without all the years of tears and laughter where else would I be? Deep inside my heart and soul All of you are a part of all of me (V2.) High school, college I can still remember when All those years come rushing back to me again A day, a month It’s like pages in a book You helped me write the chapters Come visit and take a look Let’s reminisce about how long it took (Repeat chorus) (Bridge.) We’ll sit by the fire Let history unfold If we remain friends forever, We’ll never grow old |

SEA, Thanks for the kind words. I hear this song too; unfortunately, I'm still learning how to play it on real instruments ) |

Startime, Thank you for singing with me ) Wesley the Blue, I love the name; sounds like one of the knights of old. Sir Wesley the Blue! lol I'm 33 years old and I still find myself wondering what happened to all of my college and high school friends. It's amazing to me (in a slightly depressing way) how you go through life meeting and becoming close to so many people, yet you also lose track of most of them over the years. Aimster, Thank you for your kind compliments. My secret dream is to one day sing these songs in front of a crowd. I'm still working up the nerve to do karaoke though, so for now, I will have to be content with writing the songs. (sing with me - "I write the songs that make the whole world sing..." lol) But I am making progress on the instruments. I can play three whole chords on the guitar! Ooooooooo! Impressive, huh? ) - Jeff |

I really like this one, Jeff! If you ever get it down to music, it'll be great! You can always tell when we start to hit "old"...it's usually when we start wondering "what ever happened to..." |

Tara, Thank you, my muse (Yes, you're still my muse )) Actually, I've put this one to music in my head; it's sort of a mid-tempo ballad. Now, if I could just play it! Another clue that you're getting "on in years" is when you start saying "when I was your age..." lol Paula, You do my ego proud! ) Maybe one day the world will hear me sing. I'm seriously considering taking up a friend's offer and recording a demo. It will be a vast improvement over serenading answering machines and singing into the cheesy speakerphone on a handheld tape recorder. |

Very fine lyrics. I especially like the reminisences of the chorus. |

VAS, Thanks for the compliment. ) dgvarner Thank you, neighbor! Actually, I plan on looking into how one goes about getting into professional songwriting. Any suggestions? There are so many "shysters" out there; I am afraid of sending out my material for fear of losing my rights. Glad you enjoyed my song ) |

Tara, Thanks ) A professional demo might actually make my voice sound good (lol) but I'm still going to miss singing my heart into an answering machine. |
