At This Time Of Knight This is another of Marsha's knightly tales of woe This is the story of a knight and his deadliest foe The knight is called Sir Katt, a fine and bold knight A knight people can depend on, a knight who can fight For once he's a knight that has passed his knightly test He's not a wimp, or a flop, he's a knight of the very best He has fought a dragon and he cut off its scaley head You'll never ever find Sir Katt taking a cat nap instead He's rescued maidens who were wishing to be set free Now Sir Katt is a brave and bold knight as you can clearly see But I promised you a tale of adventure and other stirring stuff So I'll get right on with it and stop with all this added fluff Sir Katt wasn't a knight who was content to sit at home If there was an adventure to find then he was off to roam He'd go just about anywhere and do almost anything at all If you needed some help then Sir Katt's the name you should call This day he was just sorting out his dashing steeds tack When a voice shouted Help, please help we're under attack There's a nasty piece of work goes by the name of Sir Mise He's invading our castle and honestly it's not awfully nice Sir Katt said Ah yes I know that varlet, he's a real pain Oh well then it's time for me to try and kill him once again Umm why Sir Katt have you perhaps tried to do so before Yes I have, said Sir Katt, and now I will try just once more So he leapt onto his steed and then off Sir Katt shot He even left his dinner of beef stew cooking in its pot He arrived just as Sir Mise finally entered the great hall And Sir Katt shouted Oy you! What are you doing art thou a fool? These poor people haven't hurt you, why don't you let them be If you want to have a battle why not try yourself against me Sir Mise was surprised to see him and replied but aren't you dead? Of course I'm not. Oh you're so stupid, I just banged my head Come on over here and we'll have a battle, a really good fight Because Sir Mise bursting through castle doors it's not very polite Okay right we'll settle this dispute now once and for all We could flip a coin, he said, I'll flip it and you can call But that's not right I thought you said you were going to fight You what? they both said, certainly not, at this time of night! I'm sorry but it is well after eight o'clock I hope you know Excuse me they both said but we never do an after dinner show Look please, let's just get this delt with now said Sir Katt fed up I see you've had tea and no one offered either of us a cup No we didn't, do you think we would after you broke down our door And anyway you'd have spilt it, all over our nice clean floor Well actually that's not yet been decided now has it said Sir Katt Sorry but do you think we'll hand it over just like that No said Sir Mise, be honest we've not flipped the coin yet If I do win, he said then, you lot will just have to get And what will you do, asked Sir Katt, if you don't win the toss Well, then naturally I'll just have to accept it as my loss So taking a large coin they flipped it up into the air And I'm sorry to say that how it landed wasn't really fair It landed right on it's edge, it simply wasn't either one Not heads or tails, or in this case not moon or sun So they shared the castle equally between those two It was very easy really and truly the only honest thing to do For six months Sir Katt at the castle was where he stayed And for the other six months Sir Mise therein raved And the original owners didn't lose out no not at all They got an in house knight, who was on knightly call When asked to tell what things were honestly truly like They said it's none of your business now buzz off go take a hike But I can reveal what they actually think and they all say Is that while Katt is away then Mise will certainly play It ended up quite happily and it really was all good fun And now I've finished telling you so now the tale is done Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

Startime, these are my fun poems, I must admit that I write these purely for their smile value. (And because if I don't keep producing bumbling knights Paula will stop writing her romantic ones) And I love her knights, they are everything mine aren't. Thank you and glad you like it Take care Mushy Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |
