He kneels before her, holds her hand, now cold,
And aches inside, he knows he's been remiss,
He'd never told her how she'd taken hold,
Of heart, of soul. he'd been hers from first kiss.

Now putting his warm lips upon her hand,
He reminisces times he might have said
How much he loved her, wrote it in the sand,
Across the shores of passion sweet; instead...

He wanted her to think it casual,
Would never just admit how much he cared,
Could not begin to realize how cruel
Withholding his love from her, for so rare...

Was such a bond they felt, though severed now,
He puts his lips to hers and gives his vow.
That if love would just visit him once more,
He promises he'll throw open the door.

Kris

SEA, Irish, and Liz,

Thank you for the kind words, and for reading and replying.

Yes, Liz, it is so very sad that some must lose what they have before they open themselves up to the emotions they hold.

*sigh* love is so very rare that when we fine it we should hold it close and charish it that we not open our eyes to realise they never knew we loved them. *sigh* this is so very sad a poem. Much love to you from me.

Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. http://path2riches.com

Chilling and sad. Looks like death found her a new lover;-(. But dont you think she knew, somehow?

Startime,

Yes, everyone should cherish love, but some don't know how...

James,

I'm sorry to hear this or a similar situation has befallen you. When we feel unloved by the one we love, it is extremely trying. Best wishes and HUGS to you.

Cuddlez,

I didn't mean it to be chilling...only to send a message to show those we love that we do care, and that we never know when we may lose someone if we don't...by many different ways.

Thanks to all...Kris
