The Carousel Elaborately carved and richly painted, the menagerie dances to music box notes struck from ivory keys on the rosewood organ. Powered by steam, in one revolution after another, riderless horses gallop their destinations unchanged; while silently the mirrored reflections mock my confusion as I stand outside the circle devoid and unaware of which way to turn. What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compaired to what lies within us. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson |

This is wonderful...hope everything is OK with you...think of you often.... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Sunshine Hon...I guess this slightly depressing piece mirrors the weather and my mood for today...but on the bright side, I've finally written something after a months hiatus. I continue to cope and at time better than others. The biopsy should be preformed this week, God willing, and hopefully all will come out well....but even at that, no one has been able to give me a definate answer as to what is wrong with me. They continue to guess and test, then guess some more...after a while you wonder if the cure is worse than the illness. |

Oh, hoot owl!!!! - Dear lady, don't tell me you have to have a biopsy too! I hope it's not you. I've just traveled that road a bit too long, myself. This poem is fascinating. I've never read one using that imagery, and it was very good! I can see you standing outside that circle, while the mirror reflects ... I'll be keeping you in my prayers more. Thank you for such a beautiful poem! Poignant and haunting, and well written. |

And sometimes, standing there on the outside, watching, we get dizzy and lose focus. This is a wonderful poem....keep your chin up and that beautiful smile on your face. You're in my prayers. |

"riderless horses gallop their destinations unchanged; while silently the mirrored reflections mock my confusion as I stand outside the circle devoid and unaware of which way to turn." This is such a vivid and frightening piece. I can really feel your confusion and fear. You are always in my prayers, and I hope that you always feel God.
