The world passes me by As I sit on this bench, Lost in my inspiration. I’m not concerned With the goings-on around me-- I’m rapt in this new-found world Where you have taken me, A world in which Yours is the only face in focus. Though I’ve resigned myself to being aloof, You have reintroduced peace; You have reached my heart. You dared; You succeeded at stealing My undivided attention. I can’t see any reason To pay mind to the passing leaves now; All is trivial Except for my concentration On your next move. I know what I want to say, But the words are captive in my mind. I need to hear your voice; You’ve been gone too long. How could I be without The sole rescuer of my muse? I run down to the coast; I don’t bother to remove my shoes. I try to fit the pieces together, But I can’t possibly put them back Without the most indispensable one? All my life, All I’ve ever needed was the one Who could recognize these symptoms, Rule it a broken heart, And begin the treatment, En route to oblivion to the past. So, my dearest, Why aren’t you beside me? Why am I the only one here, Watching the light turn From red to green? 'cause I am hanging on every word you say, and, even if you don't want to speak tonight, that's alright, alright with me... |

If you go a running down to the coast without removing your shoes, your feet are most assuredly going to get wet my friend. Yeah, I know, so what if it happens YET AGAIN. LOL Beautiful write from you and so full of the yearning of a young heart in love. You will find the green light I am sure and when you do, don't slow down for the yellows.
