We all gave peace a chance
But we never learned to dance
We watched the wheels go round
But we never left the ground

He meant for peace, a glove
To shine from inner love
Come together over me
I cry when I hear that plea

Poetry desired to live
In a vessel, it could give
For it had been long while
Since it brought such a smile

In the end the love you take
Is equal to the love you make
Sums up a life so brief
Taken by God, not a thief

Thank you, John Lennon
You gave me a hope
You gave me a song
You helped me to cope
You took me along
On a joyous rope
You wrote me a letter
You gave me some words
The world is still better
You’re music is heard

Thank you, John Lennon
Thank you for living
Thank you for singing
Thank you for giving
Thank you for reaching
Thank you for teaching
Thank you, John Lennon
Never for preaching

Thank you John Lennon
For imagining dreams
I'm removed, yes I know
But drawn closer it seems

I didn’t cry with numbers
Of family and friends
But I know golden slumbers
Doesn’t mean it’s The End

John Lennon
(1940-1980)

How appropriate walt.  I thank you much m'friend. On the anniversary of his murder, this a lovely homage and tribute.

Rest in Peace, John.

As you shown in the past a fan of the Beatles you are. They had and still have their place in our hearts. John Lennon will always be one of the greats.

I can still here the haunting silence that stunned the world that night in 1980.....I remember crying that night with my mom altough at the time I really didn't know why she was crying.....now 20 years later I do.

Thank you Walt for remeinding us all just how great a human being the world lost that night. It was our loss but heaven's gain I like to think.

Walt,

Excellent tribute to a man who gave us a lot of great music through the years.  He is sorely missed by many.  At least the music lives on.

Walt,
Thank you for this wonderful tribute. John Lennon's life ended prematurely, he had so much to offer. I did cry the day he died, because somehow his message of peace had not quite reached many. Imagine if he was still alive today, strawberry fields would be alive.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
