One by One < !signature-->I almost saw those snowflakes fly A brisk cold wind sent Wynter through A mind of hurt went passing by Freezing thoughts came into view. A flake or two brushed onto cheek Rested, melted, ran as tears Knees, then buckled, becoming weak All those years, so many years... Each day's approach, I try for new Yet mind and spirit, fill with pain Defeat comes knocking, wants it's due The old attacks come back again. A flake or two, a wondrous feel Chills the warm, yet melts to tears Days pass by, a fog of real All those years, so many years... One day I'll wake, with smile to see Forgotten years, that rise in myst Reigning warmth to comfort me To softly press my heart with kiss. And all those years, no longer stay Crystallized and stored in mind So many years will melt away One by one to leave behind... ~Wynter Bliss "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (edited 12-07-2000).] |
