Divergent paths may indicate
the many ways to go
yet share a common starting gate
of brick who's colors glow

To match the hues of mid-day sun
suspended in the sky
where watered witches melt and run
still seen if we but try

Familiar ground awaits return
beyond one Forest Green
A lost and found where bridges burned
still span the conscious stream

Of those who walked these ghosted halls
now eerily gone mute
The past is done the future calls
you to the Institute

There's much to do but time is slight
and here-in lies the rub
you're all out M.I.A. each night
to hang down at the pub

The great hall echoes to the sound
of seasoned logs ablaze
The scent of fresh cut tree abounds
and harkens of past days

The magic that once filled the air
I've placed beneath the tree
in packages wrapped up with care
to all of you from "me"

Each gift contains a memory
I've carried safe with-in
save one I've opened up to see
just where this might begin

It's nestled snug amonst the boughs
where seems it's rightful place
and looks for all the world somehow...
a quite familiar face

Some say you can't go back again
perhaps they may be right
but I'll believe it if and when
They don't show up , all-right ?...

Ah, those good old days. They were some fun times, weren't they? I guess we'll wait to see if anyone shows up!

Rowen,
Thanks, I enjoyed writing it , regardless of the outcome .
Doc

d,
They sure were ,hopefully somebody will show
, I'd hate to have to unwrap all those memories by myself .

Outside the wind-whipped flakes cascade
in sheets of blinding white
On path that leads from hidden glade
a form looms into sight

I rush forth through the atrium
and fling the doors out wide
" I bid you hail and fair welcome ,
won't you please step inside ?"

" A hearty fellow you must be ,
I'm grateful that you've come ."
"Let's thaw you out just follow me ,
to fire and buttered rum ."

When warmth of both had worked their spell
a friend too long un-seen
appeared before my eyes to tell
the tale of Forest Green

He told of what he'd seen that day
now seems far-gone yet though
these colors in my dreams still play
in shades of indigo

But what of all the others there
spread 'round that faerie ring ,
the maid who's fiery autumn hair
possessed the one called "King" ?

I must have nodded off just then
awakening to see
the wondrous colored lights my friend
had draped upon our tree ...

The grandeur of glimmering shimmering glow
surely influenced by Vinny Van Gogh
did set my mind wandering back through the past
with Jinn by my side in a car that went fast

It seems it was Vegas and others were there
all making a ruckus befitting Times Square
And then we were off to see what could be done
with a place lost in space , area fifty-one

Oh , how it seems like a lifetime ago
yet in dreams it appears fresh as new fallen snow
As a mantra recited that's come true as decreed ,
our tree's now adorned by these memory beads ...

I do believe this is one of the best gifts you can give someone.

And I can tell ya' one thing....
I know my Inlaws won't show up.....

Irie,
Thanks , this is a swiftly moving place, and I knew I was taking my chances by posting here . How-ever , when the spirit is combined with the proper intent, once in a-while something magical happens. This tree will be decorated , and I will gaze on it in it's completion , and in some way by doing so
I , myself ,will become more complete .

Each memory that ornaments
this tree will not diminish ,
suspended here collectively
reflected in their finish ,

I see the faces of those friends
whom I have never met ,
and in this way assume that I'm
not likely to forget .

This tree has colored lights preserved
reclaimed and now portrayed ,
and beads strung through with sentiment
draped 'round brightly displayed .

It's ornaments fine crafted shine
from ev'ry lush green bough ,
'till only one more thing remains
to top it off somehow ...

That's it ! The top , it's here someplace
where did I put that thing ?
Just what the Doctor ordered so
I hope that it will bring ,

you all the joy that you have brought
to me ten-fold returned .
My thanks will crown this Tannenbaum
for this you all have earned .

A joyous season may you know ,
from your pal Dr. Moose ,
should we meet 'neath the mistletoe ...
I'll bring the Christmas goose !
