   Take me For a Ride

Take me in your car with all that chrome
and blow my hair across my face
like I was eighteen and new
in your yellow shine your tuck and roll
intoxicates me and the sound
of your breathing engine ignites my

oh take me for a ride in leather
in your open door to the sky
to the star studded
flame you paint

rum de rum strum wheels
circle me with this highway dance
and I will read your map yes
and take you places
places where turbo charge is a feeling yes
and the night is metallic
and I see myself in the reflection
of your oh so sweet and clean delivery

Take me in your car with all that chrome
and blow my hair across my face
like I was eighteen and new

Visions of the shiny convertibles I had - the summers - top down flying down the highway to the beach - no cares just the throaty roar of the duals and windblown hair and smiles - thanks for taking me back~S~

Maree--I'm glad you enjoyed...thanks for stopping by.

Marge--something about the sound of a good motor gets to me...thanks.

Philip--Glad this gave you a lift.

Bill--I went to a car show on Sunday...so many of those old cars looking new again...thanks.

Butterflies--The road is great, but I'd rather fly like a butterfly.

On "That Long and Winding Road" my friend and definitely with my engine purring and revving to "YOUR" song on this one.  Now how about a ride in a pick-up truck instead?  After all, you do know what follows behind the cab don't you?  Makes for a wonderful glance of the starry sky at night in those mountains of southern California ya know.  Loved every twist and turn in this one.

Martie,

I like this one.  To feel the freedom and newness of it all.  Awesome.

....I was going to comment on those two lines....but somehow what I was going to say....slips my mind just now.
