Here's an older one of mine The Lady of Westing Hill -I- In the forests of Westing Hill Lives a woman of beauty; Her raven black tresses fall Past her knees, and her eyes are midnight blue. -II- With a voice that rivals the angels But whose songs are like none known; For the Lady is not like us She sings to the shadows and moon. -III- The mists that roll through the forest Are said to belong to her; And the whispers upon the wind – Tiny faeries that come to meet. -IV- On the Summer’s Eve, her holiday The forest comes alive with light! No earthly light shines past low branches ‘Tis magic glowing fierce! -V- The Lady Of Westing Hill sits Upon her thrown of the Great Oak tree; She sings her lullabies to the beast That hunts beneath the silver moon. -VI- She offers porcelain cups Of milk and honey to the Tiny Folk Laughing as they tell their tales Of traveling through the mysterious. -VII- ‘Tho should you crest the hill Venture past the darkest of tress; No magic will you find there – Only a woman, living alone. Dragonpoe to say I'm impressed would be an understatement... Write on. Kethry Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant - Thoreau |

dragonpoe, you want my honest input? here goes...you need to post more....i clicked on your profile the other day and 7/8 measly posts?gosh....Never ever deprive a fan from your poetry....otherwise he will turn mad and bite... i remembered this one from allpoets and what i liked about it was how the last verse surprised me..and made me feel sorry for the woman..if she needed to imagine such vivid images, how lonely she must be.... well, i still feel the same way POST MORE! Ok,ok, I'll post more. I am trying not to overrun the forum. As you know kaile, I can post and post and post.. Well, you know. I went to AllPoets and got some of the poems off there and will be posting them here, to see how well they do. Thanks all, for your kind words. Until next time, here is a smile for all of you With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free.. dragonpoe |
