~A Taste Of Something Fine~ This old 3 am ache rolls in ... and you're on my mind. In the thick, quiet, lonely of night ... I just cant seem to leave this behind. Your still here ... where you've always been. Inside my heart ... and under my skin. I feel you here beside me, I swear I can hear you breathe. Remembering your touch ... you were my sweet poetic reprieve. God how I miss it all, the comfort ... the anticipation. The contentment I knew in you ... the afterglow ... the inspiration. I don't know how to let this go, some where along the line ... you ... became part of me. Still, I've no regrets, I know some things simply just aren't meant to be. So I embrace this ache ... and I inhale and take you in. For me ... you will always define temptation ... be my most innocent sin. By your touch ... I found the lost woman in desperate need of discovery. Then finally tasted sheer pleasure ... while drowning in your depths and intensity. 3 am ache rolls in ... and once again your on my mind. Your memory brings a smile to my lips ... and I know ... in you ... I had a taste of something fine. Janet Marie (the "ache" series continues) *********** Trying To Find Purpose Vertical Horizon from the CD: There and Back Again Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind ... something fine And I know someday I might be looking around Trying to find some purpose Well purpose it can't be that hard to find As long as I've got the wind The wind and your love to carry me Well tomorrow holds only mystery And who's to say what might be But I know in you I've found a love so strong The sun and the moon look on in jealousy Yea, in jealousy Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders And it makes me want to touch you there And the light in your eyes makes me feel Like there's something much better out there Something kind ... something fine To carry me Please carry me [This message has been edited by Janet Marie (edited 10-08-2000).] |

"some where along the line ... you ... became part of me." What perfect words, and how wonderful when someone becomes part of you. Even when they're gone, you still have them, they're still there. Beautiful memories and post. ~Sheri "The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by those who got there first" |

JanetMarie~ My dear friend, I love this!!! I know how bad the ache feels, but boy, can it be an inspiration. By the way, I love Vertical Horizon, too! (I love "Everything You Want", but right now, I am kinda partial to "You're a God".) Seems like we have a lot in common, dear! My friend, you already know that I do so love this one and all of the emotions in it. I have been trying so hard to reply poetically but I am lacking my muse. Wouldn't have anything to do with hanging around yours for so long now would it? Has that rascally muse of yours been teaching mine how to hide? These 3 am things of yours are telling me that YOU NEED SLEEP........now start drinking juice or coffee or just plain ole water and put that darn tea down....well maybe not...it does have such an amazing affect on your muse and glows over into your words. HHHHmmmmm does this mean that I must start drinking raspberry tea again? |

Oh boy Janet Marie ... the ache doesn't get any deeper than this! Excellent description, you expressed this temptation and tantalizing want/ache/desire/need perfectly! Well done JM! From the moment I read: "I feel you here beside me, I swear I can hear you breathe." I identified - and you had me in te palm of your hand. Then I felt the ache - sweet and painful - and knew it too You write my heart gater - even when you write for you |

this is quite beautiful Janet Marie, and you've held me captive with your lines of poetry. Sometimes remembering what once was creates that ache and you describe it so well. |
