                      Death Be Not Black

Nay, shall I not look 'pon
Death as black, black as silk
                      laid over thy looking glass,
                      nor black as the pillow
                      'neath your head
                      stark against this white
                      of thy last bed

                      but see thy crimson rose
                      lying there

                      nay, this demise be but
                      sweet release, my love,
                      and thy flight t'ward
that next life shall be thy
                      sweeter reward
                      than thou hast here
                      in these long shadows

but the scent of thy crimson rose
                      shall linger on

                      and only white shall greet
                      thy sight as thou wing
                      on t'ward heaven

Oh, I love this so much!  Carefully and strongly worded, this is a work of art!

Death may be the last moment on earth, but it is the "sweet release" that will bring you to the next life.  btw, beautiful work!

There can always be another life in this life it you know where to turn.  Love the outlook in this one. Choosing the bright instead of the dark.  Excellent.
