Pismo Beach to taste the salt in the air feel the sand ‘tween my toes in a heartbeat, I’d be there to Pismo Beach I would go under sunbeams I shall swim and bending, pick up shells I shall play as a child again and feel the drift of swells the memories are likely better than I would find it now I doubt the water would be wetter but not as clean, I vow so I would go to Pismo Beach even if just in memories there, to hear my folks beseech “don’t go in so far, please,” and I would go again, yes, with you if only for a salty kiss to taste and content that I’m older too for perhaps I’d not act so chaste for when I last walked the sands of Pismo Beach, quite late with a boy, just holding hands there, on a teen-aged date what I choose now, really want is to lie in the waves with you and no sir, not to tease nor taunt but kiss, is what I’d rather do. There, on Pismo Beach. Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?...KRJ |

Karilea, I've no idea where Pismo Beach is but I guess it's a bit like Brighton, which is almost a London by the sea. Anyway a lovely poem Kari, really well written, and I like it a lot. Marsha |

Oh, so romantic! I've never been to Pismo Beach, being I'm on the other side of the country (nor heard of it before reading this, in fact), but you have illustrated it beautifully for us! I love this! Great write!! sp Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: 'it might have been.' -John Greenleaf Whittier |

I've been to California - and many of its beaches - what other state can boast of Anaheim, Azusa and Cucamonga? Somehow I missed Pizmo I'm sure it's my loss. I had to settle for Newport, Malibu, and others - and the one thing there not found on this coast: ocean sunsets - I loved this - and will now have to write of my local beaches ~S~ thank you so much for a reverie I could identify with |

Victoria, seals were so enjoyable, but I didn't see a Walrus walking or talking...heh heh...thank you... Christopher, you old blusher you...it was just me and the Beach Boys reliving California Dreams... Marsha, I shall visit Brighton, and bring YOU back to the Pacific... James, thank you for your kind words... Juls, you caught on to the fun part, hey?... Mark, my first eighteen, then in my 30's, I resided in my home state...I'm ready to make new memories in new places...where're they're more affordable... snowpants, thank you... Mr. Yeats, Malibu is far prettier than Pismo, but Pismo has the memories... Rex, shore sounds, whether thunderous or of soft lapping quality, soothes my soul...thank you. Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?...KRJ |
