In the winds of Cherokee song

0 posted 2000-10-06 07:03 AM

Quiet Comfort

With a breath of knowledge in what we both share
In the comfort of words we feel all that we shall dare
Through just mere touch we break out in lover's song
Knowing just where our two hearts will forever belong

Rest your weary soul upon my chest, asking not why
Reach deep into your essence and let out comfort's sigh
Trust this love that we both feared would never see light
As we both reach across the stars in this forgiving night

The cleansing of truth and the belief in what we both hold
Shall forever tell of our love and the memories yet to be told
Pathways to tomorrow no longer beaten in the silence of haste
As dwellings reside faithfully awaiting the lips of our first taste

Dreams kissing wishes upon constellations in the midnight sky
Luna winking as we search for the promise of meeting eye to eye
Reassurance granted through the belief in tomorrow's chance
Just knowing in quiet comfort the promise of someday's dance

Close your eyes tight and dream of loving walks on the beach
Hold in your heart the purity of heights we will someday reach
Sleep now in quiet comfort, dreaming of what one day will be
The blending of two souls shining brightly for the world to see

Mark Christopher

For the lines above, I thank you for this beautiful visual. What a tender and incredibly lovely way to describe such trust and comfort.  Throughout the poem, you've built up a wonderful anticipatory feeling Mark ... just lovely!

Best wishes,

This is so beautiful, there are just not
enough words...even in Websters, to describe
how exquisite this one is.  The ink well
that you write from is laced in the gold of
a heart so pure that it shines like the
brightest star on the darkest night.
Exquisite work my friend...and that you can
be sure of with no question at all~

hoot_owl_rn-Why thank you so much and to be honest with you....all the lines came out in less than 10 minutes.  Just flowed out of my pen and was nothing at all like I was trying to write.  Sort of one of those moments when you pass out and your muse writes it while you are off in space somewhere.

Marge-I do know that it WILL come someday and as for dancing across your hearts, well I would dance with across your heart anyday as the hugs I get in return really make my day.  Thank you my friend.
