©1999, 2000 Christopher Ward I gaze into your eyes, a closeness so far away. Draw nearer, so I can see. No good. I am still blinded by the beauty- of you. What do you see in me, when you gaze with your heart? I wonder. Do you see me as I am, was? Will be? For you! Perhaps the truth will remain hidden, secreted behind the veil of my own eyes. Locked away, awaiting only a tender touch. Is it you? Will it ever be you? Or will I remain closed, allowed only, the seeping leakage of feeling? Emotions unknown, begin to burrow - into my heart. I must force them down. Oh will I ever be, set free? Yes, I must, for there is justice in this life. Here, my love. I give you the key. Do what you will, my heart is yours. -A wee bit of difference. See what I mean Philip! |

This was my reply then: I like this a lot. "A closeness so far away." Good line! I look forward to reading more from you. One of two replies to this post (thank God you didn't get discouraged!) This is my reply today: Your writing, both poetry and prose, astounds me at times and I am inspired by your passion and dedication to your craft. You give fully of yourself in everything that you do - an admirable trait. I'm very glad we've become friends. |

I hadn't read it before either, and I love it, keys are more precious to give than a heart, because they are often made of gold, some hearts aren't and they break because of it. Kathleen |

well, maybe I'm just looking at a diamond in the rough...sorry guy, I like it...I see many promises laid out in what can be done...and it is always good to go back and see from where we've grown... Karilea When you want to be loved, look within...KRJ |

Chris you've made drastic improvements. But where's all the mushy stuff now? Might have been your first post, but I love the sentimental side of you in this Your work is stunning, and you never cease to blow me away at what you write! Frankly, I'm too embarrassed to go look for mine |
