            Do You Whisper My Name?

In the dark of the night, do you whisper my name?
Do you call to me softly in dreams far away?

Do I come to your side, and partake of your heart?
Do we bask in the heat as our passions impart?
Do you murmur the words that I'm yearning to hear?
Do I answer you softly with words to endear?

Do our bodies entwine in the heat of the night?
Do we satisfy longings as spirits unite?
Do you gently caress all my worries away?
Do I fall then to slumber till break of new day?

In the dawn of the morn, do you reach out in vain,
To discover ... 'twas only a dream that remained?

/Kit McCallum

Kit,

This is an awesome dream you have written of.  I think we have all been there at one time or another . . . only to wake up alone the next day and say wow it seemed so real!!     Great writing here.

This is so special to me.  I cherish dreams and they remain in that place no one can call unreal, because they are so real.  You said it so well.

Softly whispers, "Kit, Kit, Kit...." oops...sorry, my mind was running away from me for a moment
Seriously...this is such a personal poem, like a glimpse of your dreams posted for the world to see. There's nothing I love mre than a poet who is not afraid to expose himself/herself through their writing. I've always said that any poem that comes from the heart can't be bad. Nice job with this one

Second, I cracked up at Balladeer's response - no wonder you couldn't sleep with all that shouting!
