I looked up into your smiling eyes And you reach your hand to me Held there in your gentle grasp A dandelion glows in the rising sun As we walk to the waters edge What a beautiful gift this simple thing And I hold it to my heart There are more expensive things you could have done Roses...a fancy dinner...even chocolates But nothing means as much to me As this tiny little yellow flower Because it came from the thoughts There in your loving heart And in that moment we were sharing So please my love remember this That simple little gift Is with me each and every day I hold it to my heart And it takes me back to our first sweet kiss And the reality we made PLEASE BELIEVE |

oh, such a beautiful portrait you've painted. i know exactly what you mean. it's not so much the big pretty things we remember, but those small, sentimental things that hold asecret meaning to just the two of you. well captured! Everyone's got their demons. We all got somethin' to atone for. |

Paula..... You are the one who has given so many gifts of yourself and your heart. There are those of us who cherish those gifts, and we do believe...........in you............. Today is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! |

The simple things mean the most, as long as they are given with love. I enjoyed this very much. I hope they believe for you too. |

Great write, Paula! The little things are the most important. But, some of us fail to realize that the 'gift' of our time and caring is far more costly than any material tokens. Thanks for sharing! Loved it! sp |

Paula...really enjoyed this. Yes, the simplest gestures are always the best. It takes a really special person to know this and seems you have that special person. I'm sure you will have many more special gifts to come. |

Very beautifully put, to capture the sentimentality in a dandelion takes a special talent that came through in this poem. |

Paula, this is absolutely beautiful! I read it twice, and I have to tell you how putting the little things in life in this poem really touched many I am sure. We all know it's the little things, such as you said, that makes life so wonderful. You said it all perfectly.
