The rain continues to pour
Steadily outside my door
Dampness sets slowly in
I search for where to begin

Lightning flashes on the wall
As thunder crashes down the hall
The wind bends the trees
Blowing around all the leaves

I hear them rustle outside
Their range is very wide
They tumble through the night
Occasionally taking flight

Shadows dance upon the ground
Never do they make a sound
Puddles shimmer in the rain
I sit in awe of nature's refrain

what a soothing poem. that let me slow down and remember i'd been holding my breath!
fantastic imagery. to the library with this one!

"Lightning flashes on the wall
As thunder crashes down the hall"

loved those lines...

i read your signature, and by that rationale, this poem has done the job well.

"And yesterday went by so quick it seems like it was just a day."

LoneWolf~
Well .. I just happen to think that this is an EXCEPTIONAL render !

The graphic sets it off ...
but the thunderous refrain of the
raining of your thoughts is awesome !

Wonderful, my friend.

A keeper for sure.....love the way you brought the storm to us.  I also love a good storm and you have penned a superb rendering of one in your words.
