Eyes Wide Open How can I face myself in the mirror when I can’t look me in the eye? I’ve done stupid things before but I’ve never lived a lie I entered this with eyes wide open but I still refused to see As long as you’re her husband you’ll never belong to me I have your heart or so you say but she still has your hand I should have foreseen the dangers in loving a married man This isn’t easy for me to do What will it take for you to see? You think that I’m hurting you but, baby, it’s killing me [This message has been edited by Tara Simms (edited 09-28-2000).] |

Ethan, thank you. Scandalous doesn't even begin to describe it. Sven, thank you for letting me share my pain. Take me as I am or watch me as I go |

((((WOW)))) This one echoed as I read it. It read like a country song with a sweet but sad melody. It also rang out with a bit of the bitter truth. Awesome poem T. Simms. There are so many excellent lines in this one. Garfield |

Oh Tara, me too, it sure is a predicament, isn't it? Hope it works out well in the end. Love the way you poured it out here, and the last line, oh yeah, can I ever relate to that one, almost daily. Take care. Sandra |

Sandra, thank you for the reply. It's definitely not a good situation to be in. Sometimes I wake up and wonder how I got to be here. Take me as I am or watch me as I go |

Tara, love appears in all places, and maybe it is true love but when someone is married it makes things alot more complex. Follow your heart and also your soul and be careful. thanks for sharing this well written piece. Tara, Again, a beautiful and powerful statement from your heart; well written. I wrote a much more personal reply to your other poem about this subject so I won't make any further comment here. I LOVE YOU; don't lose sight of that. Hold on, my muse ) Fellow readers, Thank you for your kind words of advice and encouragement. I know they're not meant for me necessarily but it's nice to know that there are others out there that can sympathize with what she is going through. Hold on to love, y'all; don't ever let it go. - Jeff |
