Listening to every heart

Come Gather Me In

for a brief moment
in a blink of eyelash
over green light
of brilliant

~ just for a twinkling ~

a brief quiet sigh
away

gather me in
as if I were a
little one once again

so that I might
hear your heartbeat

and rest my cheek
on your breast

and smell that
Mom smell
once again

gather me in
and let me cry
huge tears
and gulping breaths
of all of the hurts
and pains
over losses and
gains
and make me
laugh because you
cry with me, only
a little louder
because you always
knew you couldn't do
anything about
my troubles
anyway

     @~~>~~>~~~~

except to hold
me close

by gathering me in
for a brief moment

so now that you are gone
I am an orphan of time
and the eight years that have passed
                   disappear
                   when I think of you
                   gathering me in
                   if only in my thoughts

thank you for always being there

This is so tenderly beautiful...this tugged
at my heart and made me smile with the
knowledge that through your words she is
there holding you close..allowing you to
write this tribute to her...Beautiful
writing~

Karilea, this is so incredibly touching. It brings many thoughts and memories to mind for me personally. How we would like to relive just one time of being held and told everything would be alright...this touches the heart.

Oh, Karilea~
Such loving moments as these are why we
are called daughters ...
Thank you for sharing this and for the
tear that rests upon my cheek.
I needed both of them.
Love and hugs.

Dear Sunshine,
I have tears in my eyes! This is so incredibly beautiful, spoken with such a softness that it swells my heart to bursting.
Very exceptional piece here, treasure it always, as I am sure anyone who has the pleasure of reading it will, themselves.
Many smiles for you

With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free..

Sunshine~ whenever things are really bad in life, the one place I wish I could be is in my mom's lap as she rocks me and soothes it all way with the sound of her breathing.....I loved this poem and I send you the warmest of true hugs....she's holding you close,I know it.....   -SEA

Oh Karilea ~ The lump in my throat and the spilling tears are testament to the meaning this poem has for me...How many times I've had these thoughts in the last 18 years, but never could I have expressed them as beautifully as you have done here.  Thanks for this.  Bonnie

Kari, this is so awesome, I'm sobbing my eyes out. I really miss my mam, I suppose because without a daddy we all relied on her so much more. This is so full of love, and such excellant writing kid, excellant.
Take care
