Meeting Fate. Tomorrow is that moment Where the mind lament Today is that time Where the body is at its prime Yesterday was that present Where memories became dormant. Born not knowing the past Dead not knowing the future Living knowing the present Past, present, future Questions to conjure Mind not at ease Sleep to appease It is morning, tomorrow has begun Confused thoughts in a spin It is nightime, yesterday has begun Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

I don't know where I came from, or where I am, and really don't care where I am going. But I do know that when fate meets the end it will not matter. You do write very thought provoking poetry. I enjoy! |

My, how time does fly. Do you really want to meet fate? Tomorrow never comes, yesterday is gone, and you live right here in the present to write your verse. Live for love. Without love, you don't live. |

Inot, Thank you for the reply, much appreciated. Interloper, Writing in the present really does not happen. You cannot hold the present still. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

well we have to plan for the future incase it never comes..if that makes sense..thats what life insurance is for.. ![]() memories are nice but i would rather be right here where i am.. ~Victoria~ A poem is never finished, only abandoned. - Paul Valery (1871-1945) |

Victoria and Marsha, Thank you very much. We need to evaluate where we are often, otherwise we lose ourselves in the never never. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

Wonderful poem. Present always in motion has our minds lagging behind and springing ahead at the same time, only "past" nd "future" for thinkers. But I don't like thinking that much. Would like to stop some day and be totally in the present, hopefully. Maybe in my next life if i'm a frog. Enjoyed this much. take care. Poeminister, Well replied, thank you so very much. A touch of the present is questionable, is it here. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

Fate is such an indistinguishable word...the cause or will that is held to determine events, destiny.....there have been so many interpretations of the meaning of the word that it has almost become a cliche...and that takes away from the importance of the word itself as it can be related to so many different meanings............the poem is very well written.....and I don't know how you look at it but I put very little faith in fate....if man's time were predestined then answer me this.....why would there be seatbelts in cars, or speed limits, or medication to take if you're sick, or improving your diet would add years to your life, why is there an FAA, or FDA, why is there a police dept, safety codes, rules for safety, if it's not your time to go then why would we be concerned about having these things...why couldn't I race right down any city street at breakneck speed through all the red lights? if its not my time to go then I'll be alright. We are imperfect human beings and not controlled like puppets by a thing called fate, we have fredom of choice ...parachute from a plane or not....naw I don't want something like fate hangin over my head making me wonder Gee is this my day to go? Time and unforseen circumstances befall all people...because we're imperfect! sorry to go on so I got a bit carried away....Geez it is a real good poem....ethome. |

I feel as if I've just crossed international waters and have transferred myself over various time zones...that, or I went back into the twilight zone... quick read, instant gratification! Great! Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Butterflies, Thank you so much for the compliments. It is certainly food for thought when considering where we stand at any given time. Sunshine, Cheers, I hope your travels were comfortable. It is a very difficult this thing we call the present. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |
