"And Then...I Remember You" Emerald so green, it was your favorite color Ocean of blue, upon sandy white shore Sweet aroma of roses and lilacs fill the air Sound of laughter on a summer gentle breeze I pause softly and then I remember you The sound rain makes as it touches softly down You taught me how to really listen The feel of the sun as it kissed our shoulders As we worked side by side in the garden All these things make me smile...and then I remember you The first sight of freshly fallen snow Smells of fresh baked cookies lingering in the kitchen Sound of your voice waking me up in the morning Robins and bluejays singing in harmony outside my window I think of those times and then I remember you In real truth, I have never forgot you Everyday I think about you sending my love I miss you so much Mom But some of your favorite things make the pain easier And its those times that I close my eyes, tears falling and I remember you |

Amy, Very beautifully written, you mother lives on. It is always best to share your sad moments with others. She is proud of you. Cheers. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

I echo what SEA said, 'poetic perfection.' that is exactly what came to mind when I read this. Yes, I know your mom IS proud of you, girlie!! sp I won't go, I won't sleep, I can't breathe until you're resting here with me... |

This is a poem any mother would be proud of. God bless you. "When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass, and the sun drips honey."" Laurie Lee Kathleen |

Amy, thank you. My mom passed away 8 years ago this coming Saturday...and if I had been brilliant, and bright, I would have written this one for her, as you did for yours... but I know you will let me borrow it often this week, as I come back to read, and read again... thank you... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Amy, It is in your memories that she will always live my friend. Cherish them and never let them fade. This was a beautiful tribute that reflects the love you have for her. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
