I die a thousand deaths
And this table stands between us
This conversation
All this chatter and polite lies

I die a thousand deaths
With no need to wonder why
I am chained
Trapped between your wishes and my pain

I am walking with gentle beasts
Oblivious
I am drowning
Treading water
I am sinking as I float

This street is a procession
These sounds the dirge of dying souls
This circle moves with us
Surrounding us with silence
I only hear your voice

This carriage is my coffin
And as we say goodnight
My body lives
While sighing I die

if it is true that the world talks toomuch then let us all keep quiet and hear the eloquence of silence - Richard Ntiru

Hi Mendy and welcome to Passions. Your poem is so painful, and I really liked those lines that I quoted here. Good work.

Yes, welcome to Passions, keep writing.  You have a fine talent for expression.

Nicely written. Break free, girl. Break free.
