today I cried my heart out
left with just it's shell
my tears like rivers, swollen
my thoughts of empty, swell
the dike had burst, releasing all
the  penetrating hurt
was more than one could hold inside
a death defying flirt.

silence reigns now, inner soul
myst becomes my shroud
peacefulness has disappeared
a challenge not allowed
reflecting eyes, in darkened light
memories too painful to hold
just one more night, of yo-yoing
forgive me, once more told.

you've killed the taste of you, once more
the bitterness wins out
thoughts betrayed, a wall to build
reality's a doubt
the winds of torture follow me
each day, a yo-yo strung
inside you've taken what was me
and placed me there among

all the meaningless in life
peeling soft my skin
hardening the cover now
protecting all within
what was is gone, what will may be
but one thing known for sure
this edge of me, once hostaged to
imprisons me once more.

~Wynter

Well I don't know what happened to my last reply but I'll have to start over here.
You've got the reality of pain in the heart flowing through this piece...the reader gets wrapped up in the bitterness that once was the closeness of love...good stuuf !! really very good read!!  I like the hostaged idea very much...ethome....
