~
While
trudging treks
through untrod land,
where longings reign, and
yearnings stand; a knowledge
closed in 'round me, in
gray and fading
woe.
~
That
far beyond
winged lights of yes,
lie paralyzing nights of no,
when all that I have ever
gained, eventually
must
go.

Excellent work, very concise and powerful, sorry that I have to quote a movie, but as soon as I read this, it just popped in my head "All these things will be lost, like tears in rain".
Thanks for sharing.

Very nice! "beyond ....winged lights of yes .....lie paralyzing nights of no...when all that I have ever...gained, eventually...must ...go"  I can relate to this poem alright and that is very well penned.....I just visited your other site on Martie's recommendation and I thought it was one of the most heart warming places I have ever been....keep up the good work....age or no age...ethome

Seymour Tabin - You have honored me greatly!  Thank you!

Poet deVine - Thank you for relating to the feelings!  And for your appreciation!

Bill - You amaze and humble me.  I am truly graced by your comments!

OLIAS - I bet you were thinking of "Blade Runner".  I wrote one once, inspired by that, but this wasn't. However, looking at it, I am surprised by your intuition.  Perhaps, without knowing it, I was inspired here too, without even being aware!

ethome - I'm so glad you could relate to this poem, and thank you for visiting our site, and I find your encouragement very, very bright, especially on this day!

I can never resist poems that say "don't read me....." and I'm glad I can't or I would have missed a very excellent poem!

Dear Rosemary...the thing about the yes's is that they see all the tiny essences that builds a smile...and there are so many...and because of no...we recognize them. Hugs!
