"Broken Promise"

The moon cannot befriend in me
at once aloft and shining there
What price, this consolation's fee
of promise past in ivory stare

For wishes waged in glowing's swell
in vain were tossed into the sky
Through vapor's fingers wishes fell
and rained instead a loathsome lie

That gentle souls with hearts to share
need only fling to skies above
In moments weak and in despair
worn ache for pride and promised love

Definitely a most well written poem on such a sad subject...

Sudhir, thank you for taking the time to read and respond.

Sunshine, thank you...it's just a poem, though. I am fine. Hugs to you for being so dear.

Another beautiful piece from you.
your poetic vocabulary is wonderful.
makes for such "pretty poetry"
this style of writing is one that I have yet to learn ..but wish too...
it is my favorite style to read.
take care
