Seems these days
I've been quiet,
Trying to let you go,
Trying to forget about
What we had.
It all looks so simple:
Let it go;
Get on with life.
And I could be successful--
I'd accomplish this goal,
Just so long as
You'd stop wandering
Into my dreams,
Taking over my thoughts.
I'd be able to move on--
If you didn't creep
Into my heart,
Night after night.
How can I forget
When my mind blocks out all else?
There's no way
To let all of that passion go
While you're still on my mind.
Seems these days
I've been quiet,
Trying to let you go.

I won't go, I won't sleep, I can't breathe until you're resting here with me...

You don't need to turn loose, my friend, just shift it to things remembered but no longer available.

It's kinda like good food...you enjoyed the heck out of it, loved it, but now it's gone...but you still lick your lips at the memory and you go on to eat other things.

Memories are lasting...forever.

great write.

SP* Seems like the harder we try to let go
the tighter the memories and ache hold
on...excellent writing and may you find the
sunshine that you deserve~

Snowpants,
Hang in there, life does get better. You have got to find the key and open the door to happiness.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

Those wonderful emotions that draw two into love don't seem to leave as easy as they came in...and therein lies a terrible problem.. a real heart and head hit that knocks you right out of the real world....so in this case you're quietly waiting trying to let go...very nice work for sure!!....ethome

Kris-

excellent poem and display of your
emotions. i can relate all to well with
what you have penned here. i don't really
have any words of "wisdom"...all i can say
is feel what you feel and in time the
memories will soothe the ache. take care.
