Excuse me, May I borrow me back?

I think it is time
to borrow myself back
from a place I didn't go
with a resolve I lacked
and now is the time
to get myself into place
while I stretch out
to beat my own race…

may I borrow me back?
for a little while?
I need to see again
if that is indeed my smile,
if that is my hair
that I cut myself
and I need to borrow my perfume
there from off my shelf…

it's time for me now
to face an enterprise
and if it could be the starship
it would not disguise
a bit of queer sensation
that's been given to rise

ever since I found this black hole
that's been a huge surprise…

I reckon it's that "crisis"
that faces everyone
the time to decide for
good or bad
if we're having any fun

a year ago I thought quite keen
a warp that I was in
and relegated just myself
to burrow deep in den
and keep myself from thinkin'
but you've been there…
tinkerin'…

and now my mind is brewing
to percolate it does
and just because there are
elephants in the room
doesn't mean it was
time for me to stop thinking
or time for me to quit
so my mind will continue
this racing life's quest
even though I sit.

So I'm going to borrow
me again
from the me that was
and I'm not going to forget
to stop and give me pause…

nor will I ever stop
from the moments of
remember
just because with life again
I'm going to become a
full fledged member….

so there I shall see you
long on down the road
and I will hear again
that aged old rooster in
this life
give a good crow…

for there are many stories
still left here in me
and I think I've just about begun
to climb up the family tree…
and whether silly, or sincere
the message you will read
shall be here…
as will the deed…

whether winsome or sparkling
treasured or withered…

know that if you hear it from me
most likely
all sources
of claim
will be
dithered….

Kari, THIS IS WONDERFUL, I know I'm shouting, but I had to because otherwise you wouldn't hear me over the noise the crowd is making. Love this one Kari, it's utterly excellant. Very well written as always a really great poem.
Take care

"borrow myself back from a place I didn't go"..from those words on, Karilea, I was completely captivated by this poem. Do you have any idea how good this poem really is??? I've read it five times and I may go back for another few. You say so much here and the meaning is so clear...the way you have come up with to make points leaves me here smiling and shaking my head. This is one brilliant piece of writing. I am not just giving a flowery response..I mean it sincerely. This is great writing, Karilea.

This is so very....YOU...I loved the
thoughts in it and the message in your
words..You weave like no one else can and I
always walk away wondering..."how does she
do that!"...great writing!!

I can only say, me too, me too!!!  So great I cannot formulate the right words to express exactly how powerfully the message arrowed straight to my soul!!!

Kari (if I may lol) - I must agree with 'deer here...

I am bookmarking this for further readings...this is full of imagery and concepts I want to sink my teeth into.
Tres magnificent! (Is that right? Did that on a whim...hehe)

oops...was that me?  Where's the mirror...

SEA...thank you!...

Marsha, no need to shout, not a crowd here, just kind friends...well, unless you count the Sybils in my soul, then it could be a little crowded...

Sven, winsome is such a cute word...

'Deer...I'm learning, I'm learning...and I always take your words to heart, and know when you are sincere, and when you jest, and the difference that lies thereintween...and thanks for the "great"...

BDC, that is the level for which I am striving..."how does she do it"...to which I have applied to so many fine poets here...

Peppermint, that my arrow pierced your heart is indeed another fine compliment, thank you...

Nan, you've got me beaming, all righty...

Little K...LOL at you...you are tres magnifique yourself...

Ah! How your writings mesmerise my chain of thoughts...

Way too wonderful work, Karilea...

Sunshine ~
My prayer is that when you borrow yourself you will become very selfish, an indian giver, and keep you to share with us!

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.
