As I watch you, Lying asleep on the bed Where you expressed Your love to me, It takes all I have Just to keep myself From reaching out To touch your brow. Do you know that Love wasn't real to me Until you walked into my life? I never believed it could be Anything more than a fantasy Until you proved me wrong. You swept my heart away And showed it such devotion. As you rest, I can't help but notice That look of peace On your face. What are you dreaming of? Could it be the same reverie That I have so often? On those mornings When you told me My face glowed With that same peace, I could only think back To the beautiful sleep From which I had just arisen And smile. Never did I think That Love would find me; I was convinced that I was destined to solitude. Love found me The moment I gave up my search; It blew my heart away Just when I rendered it useless. Now I know You are the one for me. Every time I look into your eyes, There is no doubt in my heart. Sleep, my darling, For that dream Will open your eyes to love. I won't go, I won't sleep, I can't breathe until you're resting here with me... |
